Automotive embedded software engineerFocus: low-level systems and virtualization
MSc student in Electronics Engineering at Politecnico di Torino, writing my master's thesis at Dumarey: an EL2 hypervisor in Rust for a multi-core automotive MCU, working on virtualization and functional safety.
ABOUT
background and focus
I’m Haoyi Chen, an MSc student in Electronics Engineering (Embedded Systems) at Politecnico di Torino, with a BEng in Mechatronics Engineering from Anhui University of Science and Technology. I focus on low-level software, including bare-metal development, operating systems and virtualization, as well as functional safety and reliability in automotive systems.
I’m writing my master’s thesis at Dumarey, developing an EL2 hypervisor in Rust for a multi-core automotive MCU. The work covers the Arm virtualization architecture, interrupt handling and the isolation that functional safety requires. Before that, I completed an engineering internship at UAES (a Bosch joint venture) on EMC validation and test software, and independently built hardware/software projects spanning firmware, FPGA and multi-layer PCB design.
Outside engineering, I volunteered at the FISU Winter World University Games Torino 2025 and hosted university galas and ceremonies.
